Dave Kwan was born and raised in Canada. He grew up in the small village of Tweed in Hastings County, Eastern Ontario. His parents owned and operated “Kwan’s Restaurant”, a popular local business where patrons enjoyed Chinese and Canadian food. Living and growing up in Tweed included activities such as - Friday night dances at the Township Hall, School Auditoriums, and the Tweed Pavilion. On Saturday nights, everyone packed the local Arena to watch exciting Hockey games. In the Summer, there was swimming, fishing and boating on Stoco Lake. In the Autumn and snowy season, there was the Fall Fair and the Winter Carnival. Dave attended Public School and High School (Tweed and Madoc), and Loyalist College in Belleville. In his early twenties, Dave became a Christian and later enrolled in Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in Peterborough, Ontario, to prepare for Ministry. Graduating in 1978 with a three year Ministerial Diploma, Dave worked with various Church Congregations, Overseas Missions, Youth Ministry, and eventually - Broadcasting. As a College student, he worked for a summer in Iqaluit on Baffin Island in the Arctic; and after his studies, spent ten months working in Kenya, East Africa, having opportunity to travel and see various regions of the country. Dave also pursued additional Education which included: a Bachelor of Religious Education from Tyndale University (formerly OBC), a Diploma for Industrial Design from Fanshawe College, and a Master’s of Science in Ergonomics from Loughborough University, England. His other professional experience includes work as an Industrial Designer and an Ergonomic Consultant. Retired in 2012, Dave enjoys writing novels, screenplays, and creating original comics. Dave is married to his lovely wife, Merle. They have three grown children and six grandkids.
